About

Great things are possible when gathering for a shared purpose.

Comforting + Artful + joyful

Imagine gathering around the campfire after dinner.  Someone picks up a guitar.  A plate of gourmet s'more fixings arrives.  A bottle of wine is uncorked.  The stars are endless and the conversation expansive. These things won't happen if everyone has to dart off to the hotel.  We can help you create the gathering of your dreams.  Something they won't ever forget.
These are the moments we will live to create.

We offer classes and workshops in our beautiful barn studio and grow cut flowers on our farm exclusively for event designers.
Our future plans include an art studio, dining pavilion, glamping in our fancy yurts, miles of hiking trails, 4 acre lake, full service spa with sauna, organic veg and cut flower farm on 98 acres: completely private and exclusively yours.
To keep up with our progress, follow along on our blog.

Can we talk for a minute about gathering? There are a thousand amazing reasons I can think of to get together... but the tricky part is where?  Where can a small group of folks, I'm talking 12-32 people, gather to learn, enjoy, and explore in privacy and luxury without breaking the bank.  At Crane & Clover we are building such a place. Our dining pavilion will feature a catering kitchen so you can choose to self cater or pamper yourself with a chef to spoil the senses.  Our team will take care of organizing your catering needs, help you plan unforgettable programing, facilitate offsite excursions, help you promote your event if you like, and will see to the smallest details to make your event extraordinary and unforgettable.
Our large art studio will inspire with views of the lake and hillside while being convertible to suit any group's indoor meeting needs from a board room to yoga studio. The barn features a ceramics and flower arranging studio with walk in cooler. We have miles of scenic hiking trails and kayaks free to use.  There will be a lakeside pavilion with a campfire ring to gather around.  Hammocks and private little seating nooks will be tucked in waiting for you and your book to enjoy. All of this and use of the farm will be exclusively yours for the duration of your visit.  No one else will be allowed to book during your event.
How's that sound?  So if you're coming to retreat, you'll have the space to gather and grow in a natural, beautiful setting.
Are you in?

Let's Gather!

I saw on Facebook Crane & Clover’s Tea House making class and immediately wanted in. I went with my friend and we both had a blast. Kim did a wonderful job explaining what to do (and not to do) and showed us in real time. I am a complete beginner and honestly can’t believe the level of what we generated in this class. Each person’s Tea House was special and unique. At the end when I looked around, I felt like I had walked into a behind the scenes making of what would be something you’d find at an Anthropologie store. I can’t wait to take another class with her again.

I attended Kim’s ceramic flower class at Crane & Clover Retreat with my dad and brother, and it was such a great experience. It's such a cool project and she has so many different and creative examples to reference, both in her studio and throughout her property. We enjoyed it so much. She had a very clear process, gave us enough information to work but also kept things moving, and provided instruction updates as needed throughout the session. She also was very helpful in making personalized suggestions to help me make the flower I had in my mind. The whole class felt thoughtful, prepared, and well considered, and I’m really excited to take more classes from her in the future!

Also she has the BEST dog. Which obviously matters a lot in a review.

I have had the pleasure of attending a few classes out at the farm, as well as open studio time...any time I'm out at the farm it feels like a mini retreat and I leave feeling inspired and excited to come back. Kim creates such a warm, inviting space, inside the barn and out...I appreciate her relaxed teaching style and her encouragement to create!

I recently took the Pressed Flower Workshop. It was a lovely Saturday afternoon and the property was beautiful and peaceful. Kim is a great teacher and she spent hours preparing dried and pressed flowers for our frames and terrariums. I love the wood flower press and look forward to pressing my own homegrown flowers. I plan to make several Christmas gifts with the skills I learned in class. Thank you Kim for a wonderful day!

We enjoyed an INCREDIBLE private class for some special members of our family. It was a very special afternoon being together relaxing and creating new things with our hands. Kim was an amazing teacher who allowed our creativity to shine! Her daughter Delaney was an absolutely amazing as a teacher to my small kids [7 & 9] who wanted to feel independent and still create something beautiful. It was a fabulous experience, totally worth the trip, absolutely worth the class fees, and we will always cherish the memories and the beautiful ceramics we made!!! Crane and Clover is a very special and tranquil retreat - Goochland is VERY fortunate to have something so incredible for artists, families, ladies, kids, etc. Kim is also a very talented flower farmer and seeing her fields and the beautiful things she's creating on the land while taking a break from the class was such an added bonus! We will be back!!
