Over three hours of detailed on-line instruction filmed in our studio, taking you from start to finish. If you can’t attend one of Kim's workshops in person, this one’s for you. During this pre-recorded on-line class, we’ve done everything we can to make it feel like you’re right there with her every step of the way. And because it's pre-recorded you can work at your own pace, in your own time.
Kim will start at the very beginning, describing the ceramic making process.  Then she will walk you through making your flower, step by step, focusing on the mechanics you need to create your own sculpture. 

What to expect in this workshop:

•Module 1: I give you a full explanation of how the ceramic process works. I call it ceramics 101. Of course if you are already a ceramic artist, you will skip this section! 

Here is a complete list of tools and supplies you will need:
A wood working surface or drop cloth
A beginner ceramic kit (you're a beginner) sponge, rib, wooden tools, scoring tool, knife
Bowl for water
Paint brushes
1/2" round small piece of pipe
Rolling Pin
garlic press and/or colander optional
slip(recipe included)
glaze or underglaze
A bisque fired bowl to use as your form.
JB Weld Steel Stick
1/2" galvanized pole

•Module 2: We discuss the designing of your flower and give tips and tricks for making your flower installation successful in your garden. I have also included inspiration for installations beyond the single pole.

•Module 3: We make 4 different flower forms that will give you all the skills you need to make any flower you want to sculpt. My examples are the poppy, lotus, magnolia and a whimsical abstract flower.  I have included downloadable petal templates to help make cutting out petals a bit easier.

•Module 4: We learn all about glazing your creation and discuss the firing process.

•Module 5: I teach you how to mount your flower to a pole and install it in your garden.

Module 6:  Bonus section...I give you a very brief run down on air dry clay.  However, this is not the focus of this class, nor do I really recommend it.  It is not suitable for outdoor use at all, only indoor decoration, I am only including this because so many asked if it's an option.
